Dresser with Curio
This dresser has over 25,000 cubic inches of storage!! All 16 drawers (12 main drawers, 4 jewelry drawers) have half-blind dovetail joints. Optional accessories include etched glass and mirror and low-level lighting in the curios and across the mirror. In the dresser pictured there are four integrated jewelry drawers under the curios using white oak faces and walnut sides. Visual details that make this item special include ends of the dresser and curios are book-matched panels. Square pegs of walnut can be seen at the door joints and on the upper sides. Even the drawer faces are from a single board to give the grain “flow” across the front. The large drawers have popular sides to decrease the weight and all drawers slide on wood. There are no mechanical drawer slides to come loose over time. The etched glass design in this example is reflective of Frank Lloyd Wright. In this example, the use of solid white oak gives this dresser definite toughness for generations of use. The unit, weighing over 450 lbs, is designed to come apart in sections for moving. Also, with exception of the top bridge, each section could stand alone as a piece of furniture, including the mirror as it has a frame around it.
