Serving Tray

This might be called a “mixed medium” piece. The wood is mahogany with maple inlays. The center holds a hand-made, white swan tile. The design is meant to evoke an Asian/Mission-style character. The spaces on the right and left sides of the tile are meant to give a light-weight look. The legs and aprons are mortise and tenon for extreme strength. The legs are designed and set under the top so when looking down onto the tray the legs are not seen. This attention to detail and visual aesthetics gives appearance that the tray is floating in mid-air.
